very cool, my team mate has a similar set up to the first marker. He loves the way it shoots and handles. I myself am digging that snake skin paint on the second A-5

I just traded away my A5 and seeing yours reminds me of how much I miss those little buggers. Fun fact- if you polish the Flatline barrel adapter and the threading of which it goes into, you can slide the barrel off incredibly quickly for cleaning  or even to switch to a different barrel during the game(although you'll probably need to add an o-ring as a buffer to make it sturdy).

More fun facts:
  • I know folks who ran their Flatline barrel on the A5 without the forward screws on the marker torqued down specifically so they could pull the barrel for cleaning; while I never did this, it seemed to work okay for them
  • Switching to a different barrel during the game is a bad idea because it effects velocity
    • Especially switching from a Flatline to a normal barrel because removing the extra drag and air lost around the ball from the Flatline can easily push the speeds with the new barrel above the field limit

Ooh- That never crossed my mind, but that's a very solid point. I personally just used it for cleaning and doing wacky shots during slower games. Not saying the wacky shots are useful, but they're entertaining during a stalemate.
In that line of thinking though- does the APEX barrel change velocity when you ramp it up or down? I was under the assumption that it didn't but really don't know jack about air or pressure related malarkey. Sorry to get OT

I've never done the same experiment with the Apex, but it would make sense that reducing the friction from the skid pad in the tip would increase velocity.  I've heard of fields that banned the Apex for this reason but I know of no such cases personally.

Beautiful paint job.  That looks like some sort of Duracoat finish.  Do you do that for a job in real life or something?
