While I was lifting in my basement I was poking around between sets. Decided to check through some of my paintball stuff and saw the Ariakon ACP 2.0 off to the side with a bag full of 12gram cartridges. It came to mind that in the 4 years that I've owned the marker, I've never fired it. That had to be remedied after my workout.
I purchased it brand new with a holster and two extra 10 rnd clips for around $130, which 4 years ago was a steal. Couldn't be passed up. Buddy was trying to grab up a bunch of Rapides on eBay so we could play a pistol game, so I had to get my own pistol. Never liked the long trigger pull of the Rapides anyway. Found the Ariakon deal and jumped on it.
So, I loaded up all three clips with 10 rounds each. As I recalled, the Rapides were lucky to get 20 rounds out of a 12gram cartridge. Wanted to see how efficient this pistol was. Went through the first clip with no problem even with 2 year old Marbalizers. Shot about as well as I expected. Got half way through the 3rd clip when the pistol refused to re-cock. 25 rounds out of a 12gram is about it and totally acceptable. Did a quick breakdown of the marker after I was done and found it to be more or less a Spyder clone as far as the innards were concerned. No matter. I thought it shot great. I'm definitely interested in playing a pistol only game now. Just have to learn to swap out magazines fast. With some practice, I should be able to do it.
