Hi all,

I recently started up paintball again for the first time in about 3 years and my A-5 actually failed to work, which was highly surprising. I've been trying to diagnose the issue and ended up disassembling and reassembling my marker well over 10 times. The marker will cock, but will not fire. After cocking, when I pull the trigger, nothing happens, with air attached or no. My friend's marker even sounds different when the trigger is pulled without air on it. The spring does not sound like it has as much tension as his, which makes me think that the springs need replacing. It almost sounds like the "hammer" is not striking the pin to release air into the chamber and push the ball out. I also noticed that when I pull the trigger the cyclone feed does not spin, which leads me to the conclusion that I need new springs as well. Thoughts?

Tim

PS. If needed I can post a video of how it sounds. It does not sound like it other A-5s...the trigger pull results in a much quieter "snap" if you know what I mean. Thanks.

I am assuming that you are compotent enough to use oil LOL

I would borrow the drive spring from your friends A5. If you switch it out and your problems go away...wahlahh, you need a new spring.

Your cyclone only spins when you have the marker aired up and cycling, or if you depress the plunger. I think it is the 50 cent drive spring causing your issues. Should be no biggie.

Yeah, I used oil haha. I'm thinking I might try to swap out of the spring with his and see what that does like you said. Even if I don't, the spring is only like $5 online. Thanks for the response, btw. I'll let you know how it goes.
