"After a few attempts"

Was it a few attempts because you couldn't figure out how to get it back together correctly? Are you 100% positive it's back together correctly?

Based on my experience with 98s, I recommend putting it in place with it sticking out of the top of the marker just a bit.  once you have the two haves together, separate them at the front just enough to push the spring down in place.

Check this video out.  It's for a 98 Custom but it's the same procedure for all of our makers that use the front sight site, spring & latch.  http://youtu.be/xI022_RZ6P8" rel="nofollow - http://youtu.be/xI022_RZ6P8
