Ive been playing with my A5 for about 2 years now and love it. Im wondering if the new X7 Phenom would be worth it to upgrade to. I could still use my Lapco 14" big shot on the Phenom so thats a plus. The main draw to the Phenom is the internal regulator, and of course the E grip that can shoot semi auto without a battery or go auto with the battery on. I could get a H.E grip for my A5 but it always runs off battery power.

So far my A5 has a Tech T zero kick hammer, Opsgear Ump kit (the mag isnt in the pick), lapco 14" big shot barrel and I have a G36 stock I use sometimes.

Is the Phenom that much better or should I just get a H.E trigger for the A5. I can make the H.E trigger fit with my shroud by sanding down the mag a tiny bit.

Thoughts? I figure I could get at least $200 plus for my A5 on ebay and maybe I can find a good Black Friday sale on a Phenom.

I think you would be lucky to get much more than $125-$150 for the A5 as it sits. "Upgrades" like shrouds and such will command higher money, but only for someone looking for that specific set up. Typically, resale on Tippmanns is about 1/2 of what you put into it at most. Sometimes you get lucky.

As for whether to get the Phenom, that is for you to decide. If you can afford to have both, I would say yes. If you have to sell the A5 and take a loss in order to afford the Phenom, I would say no.
