We had a good snow fall yesterday, that wet snotty stuff that makes driving on dirt roads all drifted and unmarked all that more fun. Came down all fluffy, hit ground and went all wet. Was in Omaha at a FoW mega-game and the drive home was 'fun'. Last year had the 4x4 Tundra was not that bad, the 4X4 Kia was OK but needed some weight on the interstate, a little skating. Handled the dirt roads for the final run home fine.

Got fireplaces going, hot tub still on and a good 105* soak was nice with 15* on the run back to the house. Outdoor tub, we tried to cover it with heavy weight tarps around cazebo but one noght we had the usual Ceresco top of the hill home winds, tarps were torn off and spread all over yard. I built a little hatch in home mede insulated tub cover, so don't have to uncover whole tub surface.

All in all not looking foward to winter.

If the Kia is anything like a Hyundai Santa-Fe (old model) they do not like the snow as much as you'd expect an AWD light SUV to do. The October 29th snowstorm ended up being the absolutely worst thing I have ever diven in, and I'm a New Englander. Driving in a blizzard and blackout with falling trees and wires everywhere was bad enough, but crappy brakes and numb steering pretty much meant anything I tried to do may or may not be transferred into the actual attitude of the vehicle, and the desired effects could be absent or exaggerated. I'm used to fishtailing or sliding, but have been OK at keeping in control despite bad traction, but this was like a styro-foam cup getting blown across a frozen lake.
