Sat for a good two hours in the 105* hot tub outside in 18* weather. I made a 'hatch' in the homemade cover so most of the tub is covered. Sirius Radio going, Classic Vynyl to late 60's to early 80's.

Relaxed and fine, other than the 'dash' back to the house.

BTW Momma is now seriously considering being a rescue home for Bassets, either as a temp or a retirement home for older Bassets. We have the room and facilities for several, and our 2 guys like company. She is already missing 'Buddy' she got too attached to the old guy.

I'm trying to figure out what part of this makes you crazy

It's in the 30 here in Texas and my jog almost killed me tonight.

I envy your hot tub, I used to hang out at my neighbor's hot tub parties before they divorced. In the winter we'd stay in there for hours drinking margaritas and listening to live music from the various neighborhood bands. It was good times, I rather miss them.

As am I. I love to go over to my friend's and relax in their hot tub when it's cold out.

Heck yes, it's great. Theres a natural hotspring by my house back home and I'd go there when it's cold all the time. I dont think they closed till around -22F.

A natural hot spring would be cool.  There's one in the upper peninsula that I've visited.  I've got a 5 x 7 hot tub collecting dust at a rental right now.  I should bring it home and hook it up.

My biggest problem is the wind. Up here on the only hill for miles the winds are terrible. The wind chill can not be measured. Put a heavyweight tarp over gazebo with hot tub was torn and blown away after just one windy night.

My cover is layered styrofoam insulation 4X8 sheets and waterproof tarps. all supported by 2x4's. Works quite well, temp on economy setting, only heated to 105* for 4 hours then goes down to 85-95, but it holds temp better than expected.

I wear a watchcap while in tub, and always ice covered when moisture from 'steam' freezes to it. My hatchway is only large enough to drop into tub with maybe top of shoulders and head exposed. Depending on wind will pull my Gortex GI rainjacket over head covering 'hatch' and enjoy.

It was in the 80s this morning.

I live in a hot tub.

(Granted a cold front is moving in tonight)

Nothing about that seems even remotely crazy to me.

For some reason this reminds me of things I do to stay warm and dry in my hunting blind in 3 foot of snow.  Sometimes it does seem kind of nuts.  Add a rifle and some hunters stick and it would be a party.
