played paintball 1st time ever last weekend loved it. got an a5 from a friend and noticedthe asa is at an angle and not pointing straight back like most guns. i seeing some adapters for the bottom of the pistol grip...  my question is can change the stock asa and use some sort of combination so that my tank goes straight back instead of 120 degree angle or whatever it is now?

The stock ASA should have the tank going straight back in line with the gun. The bottom of the grip is at an angle to the rest of the gun.

Most ASAs have a slight downward tilt, this helps keep liquid CO2 out of the valve, which can lead to inconsistent velocity. Unless you have an expansion chamber or run HPA, it's a good set-up. Otherwise you need an adapter for an aftermarket ASA that keeps the tank closer to parallel with the bore-line, usually a bit better for ergonomics.

http://store.customproducts.us/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=19&categoryID=3" rel="nofollow - This was not exactly the part I remembered but it replaces the stock ASA with an adapter that allows the use of any ASA or a drop.  The one I used to have* allowed the mounting of horizontal, duckbill style, ASAs.  I'm not sure about this one but it was the closest thing I could find.

*I probably still have it in my one of my parts boxes somewhere.

I think Trinity or Lapco makes one as well.
