Excited they used a Mosin Nagant? Yep! Excited that they shot it instead of just spearing it with the ridiculously long bayonet that comes with every Mosin in case you find yourself fighting a guerrilla war in Afghanistan? Nope.

P.S. DNRTFA before posting.

Edit: After RTFA, I found this gem which just goes to back up everything ever said about the nugget on /k/

Quote The bullet pierced one deer and passed into a second one behind it, killing the first deer and wounding the second one, Manza and Dickson said. The crew chased the second deer into the woods and shot it again to put it out of its suffering, Manza said.

Two deer with one round?! AWESOME!

It is about Hipsters doing bad things...taking deer with out a license and out of season while making a movie.  Nevermind.

I always wondered what would happen if you dumped a bunch of hipsters in the woods, predictably, they made a huge mess of things.

Ceesman, I hope you know you provided me with the tinder and spark needed to start a full-on flamewar over on /k/. Thank you my friend.

I hope they get charged. It's kind of a big deal to shoot a deer out of season.

/on an unrelated note, I hit and killed a porcupine the other night while driving. Slightly unnerving.

I'm imagining the guys being horrified when dealing with a wounded deer. I've had the more suburban/urban sheltered types help me move a log out of the road in bad weather, but it's a different story when it's a mangled roadkill deer. If you didn't grow up with it, I think deer hunting  can be a bit unnerving. On the other hand, those asshats got a deer this year and I didn't, but I suppose if I wanted to hunt out of season and with a rifle, I could eat venison much more frequently.

Isn't raccoon a bit like extremely greasy pork?
