The dude who killed 77 people in Norway got sentenced today. He will serve 21 years with the possibility of parole after 10. -------------

It's not as light as it seems. Norwegian law allows them to hold you indefinitely after your sentence is served if they deem you to still be a danger to society. It's kinda like Gitmo for Norsemen. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

Here that wouldn't even be a possibility though. He would either be dead in a few years, or sentenced to life w/o parole from the get go. -------------

Twenty-one is the national maximum for sentencing, the court can order an extension of the time after 21 years up to another 21 years, and so on and so forth.

His "I'd do it again" statement in court most likely guaranteed his extension after 21 years.
