That is very cool.

Alas I don't want to play the ones I don't own and I have the one I would.

As I said on FB. Metro: 2033 with the lights out late at night. You won't be sorry!

I'd tend to agree with you. There is a reason I carry when I'm playing games. Just in case :p

I already own it though.

Ahhh, okay then!

I know Steam has the STALKER games on sale (or did) for under $10 each right now. The original "Shadow of Chernobyl" modded with the "Complete 2009" mod is simply awesome.

Talking about STALKER, I still don't think a single horror game has been made that tops the atmosphere of the original. I got deeply involved with that game until the end.

I bought both of the sequels, downloaded them, and made it about 20 minutes into each. They just didn't do it for me the way that STALKER did. Oddly enough, I think STALKER is one of those rare games that could benefit from a console port-it could do with some simplification and some bug refinement.

As far as Metro, it had good atmosphere and amazing lighting / visual effects, but I found it kind of shallow when compared to STALKER and the optimization for PC was awful.

On topic-I love the idea of selling games for specific charities. It's an especially good idea when it comes to older titles that might end up just being pirated without the charity incentive.

If you haven't used the "Complete 2009" mod for the original STALKER, you need to. It fixes most of the bugs, and good god does it get really, really scary. Some nights, you'll start hearing weird sounds over your radio, see odd lights in the sky, have sudden unexplicable blow-outs with tons of mutants and zombies swarming previously "cleared" areas. It's just damned good.

S:CoP was better than Clearsky imho. I didn't make it far into S:CS before I lost interest. I'll have to run the Complete mod on it and give it a try though. The physics and everything were just too different from S:SoC for me to get right into it. S:CoP was much more true to the S:SoC experience, but with more freedom to explore, and more uniformity to the anomalies instead of them being seemingly scattered around the zone.

Once you get past Zaton (the beginning area) Call of Pripyat gets much, much darker, more tense, and scarier.

As for Metro. You've got to remember that it was rushed production 'on the cheap' Metro: Lastlight is proving to be much, much better, which is saying something given the atmosphere of the first one.
