My girlfriend got me the smallest Kindle, which was a case example of me having no idea how much electronics cost, since I almost never buy anything new for myself. I unwrapped it and was like "Yo this is way too much money for a gift!" but it was only like $60. She also got me a bottle of Polo cologne, because I like it.

BTW, the first thing I did on my Kindle was buy Clash of Kings, since I'm reading through Game of Thrones right now.

My mom got me some dress shirts and neckties, since I teach in shirt and tie now.

My favorite tie:

I also got a dress shirt that's the color of the background of SSOK's sig, which is neat, because I've never had a dress shirt that color before. I got some charcoal-grey ties to go with it. I hope I can pull it off without looking like a big ol' fat tomato.

My mom also got me some Bengals stuff, which made me happy. Stuff I'd never otherwise get myself:

Other stuff includes two jars of pepper jelly, some house shoes from my grandma, my girlfriend's mom got me a big stuffed buffalo because I like buffaloes.

That's about it. Great low-key Christmas.

I got my girlfriend a big ol' box of about 25 Disney Vinylmations because she collects them, a HIMYM shirt, and a gift card to Sweet Tomatoes, because it's her favorite place in Orlando and she's moving right near one in the spring for her new job with Disney.

I got my mom a big fancy looking sewing box and a bunch of clear compartment storage boxes. She's gotten into quilt making lately, but has been storing all her bobbins and such in an old shoebox.

I got:

new sweater
new coat
2 pairs of insulated pants (to keep the Canadian cold out while walking to work)
jeans
socks
Laptop cooler so I can actually play games without my laptop crashing
chocolate
a really nice knife/multitool/flashlight kit
mall gift card, Futureshop gift card, movie theatre gift cards
shoe spikes for walking on ice
more chocolate
remote for taking long exposure shots on the DSLR
8GB stick of RAM for my laptop

Me and the siblings pitched in and bought a Blu-ray home theatre system for the parents.

'Twas a good Christmas full of practical gifts that I will actually use.

Nice sweater
Some car wash/care stuff.
Boston market/walmart gift cards
Hot cocoa, chocolate chip shortbread cookies, truffles, big Hershey bars.
16 gb USB flash drive
Some nicely padded lifting straps for the gym (when your forearms are dead and you can't hold onto anything anymore, these are great to continue the workout. I use them a lot now for back workouts for all the pulling after I can't hold on anymore.)

And best of all:
Merkur shaving starter kit.
Comes with the razor and a super platinum blade.
A super badger brush
A chrome stand
Fendrihan lathering mug
Edwin jagger shaving soap

I wasn't expecting the merkur kit which made it awesome. I've told my girlfriend I have wanted to start it because of you guys. I never felt like coughing up the starter money for it. I'm glad she did. I'll be using it for the first time tomorrow. Oh and I welcome anyone wanting to send me a couple test blades of different brands.

It was my first year spending Christmas with the gf's family. It was a good time and I love how the cousins and uncles/aunts crack jokes about us getting married. Have yet to get her parents to do the same.

Shaved today with my merkur. I have some getting used to, to get better at it. But the shave is definitely closer than before. I have one problem though, my face felt like it was burning afterwards. Put a cold towel on my face to cool it down. All is well now, but if there is a way to avoid the burning, I am all ears.

I know I am a tad bit late, but the main gift that i got was a go pro which I am extremely excited about. Other than that I got mostly clothes and gift cards. With a couple of those gift cards I picked up the suction cup mount, tripod mount, and handle bar mount for the go pro. Does anyone have experience in using go pros? I have been messing with time lapse videos and I am not quite sure how I should put the pictures together to run them as a video.

For time lapse, you have to get a program to do it. The free software, forgot what it is called, doesn't do time lapse for photos. It sucks. Did you get the 3? I have the 2 and I think it's cool, but sadly it will not give the image quality from promo videos. At least there is a ton of post work for those promo vids.

lots of little things as well. The wife and I only did stocking stuffers this year as we're going to buy some blinds for the house and some curtains too.
