I've got an original Model 98, bought the first month they hit store shelves to date it, and after pulling it out of a couple year long storage, doing a complete O-ring replacement and maintenance (didn't even need it, IMO), it has turned into an inexplicable paint blender. It doesn't appear to be a matter of fast versus slow shooting, either.

The only change in configuration between now and when it was previously used a few years ago is that I'm using HPA instead of CO2.
I'm using the same aftermarket barrel that I used before with great success and accuracy, but I've also tested 2 other barrels including the horrendous(sorry) stock barrel. I've tried using my Eggy, which has always worked fantastically on it, and I've tried using a Halo Too as well.

Everything inside is stock; everything outside is as well except for the replacement loader elbow. There are no burrs or defects anywhere in the path of travel inside of the marker's body, on the bolt, or in the barrel. The new ball detent is also installed correctly.

I'm using PWI Bombz, which is a good quality budget ball that's surprisingly brittle. Paint shoots out of  Autocockers and Spyders great, no problems.
Conditions at the field the past two days have been chilly (50's) and we got rained out both days, but the rain came after the problems were discovered both days.

So now that I've laid out my sob story, I'm really hoping somebody can help me resolve this frustrating problem. I gave this marker to a friend to play with for his first paintball outing and things didn't go well, as one might expect. I've troubleshot it as best I can. I've inspected the barrels, loaders, and marker thoroughly.  This marker shot perfectly when I stopped using it as my primary and virtually never broke paint, even under spirited shooting conditions.

Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts.
