That was a smart rebuttle on Tesla's part. I didn't have time to get into the details but they did a good job of making their case.

I read the article when it came out, it was hard to take it too seriously even as a hit piece. However, it does point out the potential problems of the car, it takes a while to charge and a lot of things can alter stated range. With charging stations as they are, it's going to be difficult to drive long distances as easily as with a gasoline-powered vehicle. That's pretty obvious. As these become more popular, there's going to be a learning curve, as well as an increase in charging stations. I'm still not sure that one dumbass article, written in a humorous manner, undermines he credibility of the entire paper.
