Why do you hate CTD? Because you think their prices are too high? Go buy your ammo from Wal-Mart, they are usually pretty cheap. Oh wait, they are always sold out.

Damn CTD for trying to squeeze as much as they can out of last minute panic buyers. Or keep prices high during tax refund season. CTD is offering something a lot of companies aren't right now, inventory. Want to shoot that new gun you just bought, but having a hard time finding ammo? Well there is ammo out there, but you will be charged a service fee for not preparing. You would think after the 2008 elections people would have learned their lesson, but apparently not. If you don't like the prices, don't buy it. And don't complain, it's not their fault you didn't stock up while times were good.

Well there ya go. Problem adverted, yet CTD keeps their prices high. Obviously they still have people buying ammo, perhaps the type of impulsive panic buyer they are catering to.

Yeah, my dad bought that Micro Compact we saw yesterday but we're not shooting our 1911's for a buck fifty a round.

And CTD has ALWAYS catered to the nutbags. Our local CTD actually makes me uncomfortable-never fails when I go in there some dude has his wife and kids in there lecturing them on the new world order or how the government wants his guns.

That aside, the cheapest place I've found for ammo is actually Gunbroker. Their .45 ammo is running about .75 a round if bought in bulk.

.308 ammo on the other hand is insane everywhere, and I'll be damned if I'd pay .50 a round for .22LR.

How much are you guys shooting lately? My shooting has pretty much been curbed since then. The range I go to is about an hour away, and I don't want to spend 2hrs driving just to shoot a little 22, one box of 38, and some 54R.

A year ago, that same box of 50 9mm cartridges would cost between $12-20.  Now prices have skyrocketed 450% because people are being retarded.

Natchez still has normal prices, so do some of the bigger stores.

Gunbot.net is what I cruise, good deals pop up occasionally but they go fast.

Yeah I don't shoot either. Just not worth a couple hundred bucks in ammo plus range fees.

Nobody's trying anything with ammo, the preppers and nuts are buying mass amounts of ammo because of gun control talk (totally logical amirite) then when the rednecks go to get the ammo the nuts alreadt bought they assume Obama has cut supplies and panic.

In turn, the ammo companies are sending out less ammo to keep the market rush going so you have guys waiting at the doors when the shops open to buy two boxes of .22 ammo they refuse to shoot because they don't understand basic economics. If they'd quit buying ammo they won't shoot there'd be ammo.

So annoying.

I never thought I would see the day that 7.62x54 is cheaper than .22lr.

Or the day when you find one box of .45ACP for 60 bucks on a shelf next to a stack of .45 GAP at 26 a box.

A buddy of mine is in the academy in Raleigh, and has to supply his own ammo for range week. He walked into a CTD affiliate(or a CTD that just goes by another name) and saw them unloading a couple cases of .40. He gets the other stuff he needs, and walks up to the counter and asks them how much .40 they have that he can buy.  They looked down at his uniform, looked back up at him, and told him they didn't have any.

CTD won't see any of my business.

Tell him to come up to VA and buy from Quantico Tactical. They like Mil and LEO. I hate that all the true nut-jobs think that the popo and military are some sort of evil cohort in on the gun control movement. They aren't. Sure, some state agencies have come out anti-2A, but the vast majority of city, county, and municipal all say they won't enforce any crap laws that come out.

There are also a lot of new gun owners buying ammo. That definitely doesn't help the situation.

In all honesty, I'm surprised the administration hasn't gone after ammo. It would seem to me, far easier to to get the bills through. Adopt laws like Mexicos, no citizens are allowed to own law enforcement or military rounds. Permits needed to store over a certain amount of ammo. Or simply classify primers are DD's.

I think you overestimate this administration's commitment to gun control. I think the AWB is both silly and inevitable-they've bween pushing for it since the last one expired.

Otherwise, I don't think there are enough anti-gun far left wing politicians out there to really push anything beyond that.

That's really been an issue with building a solid pro gun base since the 80's in my opinion. All attempts at gun control are interpreted as steps towards confiscation so there's no discussion to be had. I partially blame the NRA for this exaggeration.

As far as ammo, don't forget the government needs ammo as well. If they restrict the private market they could face shortages in protest.

If they limit the civilian market, the ammo companies will have to sell to the government to cut into their massive losses.

But legislation comes slow-they'd know about the bill in time to protest.

Several gun manufacturers have already either stopped selling to law enforcement or moved their facility to more friendly state..
