Hello all,

I am starting to get into paintball.  I just started playing and only after a few games I bought my own 98 Custom.  I threw on a Flatline barrel, and I loved it.  Although after yesterday... I started running into velocity problems.

I was unable to get my gun to shoot over 220 FPS.  I constantly played with the velocity adjuster... and I could only get the gun to go between 190-220 FPS.  This is the first time this has happened.  Previously, the gun could easily be adjusted over 300 FPS (I would aim for something around 270 FPS).  After doing some quick research on my phone... I thought I would try and switch out the bolt spring.  I keep the gun well-oiled so I didn't think friction was a problem.

I went to the store at the field I was playing at, and explained the problem.  The guy told me it was due to humidity.  He explained that the balls were smaller than what I was used to because it was fall and the balls weren't swelling.  Since the Flatline barrel has a wider bore than most barrels, I was losing the pressure needed to force the ball out of the barrel.

I ran to the chronograph and put my stock barrel on.. and sure enough, it instantly increased my FPS by 50.  The thing is, I love my Flatline.  Even at 220 FPS, it was shooting much better, more accurate, and at a greater distance than my stock barrel was at 270 FPS.

Could anyone reccomend anything I can do to help increase my velocity on the Flatline on these days that are not suitable for its performance, or recommend a barrel that will increase distance?  Thanks!   If it is helpful, I use a 3000/62 compressed air tank.
