I'm beginning paintball, and I'm thinking of buying an A5 kit when I decide I'm into the sport. My idea was an A5 with a flatline barrel and an old-style MP5 stock, to make this thing look very similar to an actual MP5 while maintaining a good performance. My only worries though is that I may not like this setup for my beginning months of paintball (after I go to places and rent my gear a few times). If anybody has suggestions I would love to hear them, include recommendations, criticism, opinions, etc. I'd also like it if you gave me a list of what gear you have on your A5's so I can get more ideas.
Thanks! :)

My first gun was an A-5. I still use it. The thing that is the most important in paintball really is the performance of the marker. Having a mil-sim look is very fun and great to have, but before you go off buying stocks and barrels and what-not you really need to buy internal upgrades. I can't stress enough how important buying an upgraded bolt or cyclone paddles is to the gun's performance. THEN buy accessories. If you want an MP5 look, then an old-looking stock, like a skeleton stock, would look nice, and the flatline would complete the look if you're willing to buy more expensive paint. If you get a flatline, treat it nicely, and feed it high quality paint. I think the setup you are thinking about will suit you perfectly, and I guarantee you will get very into the sport. The A-5 is a solid gun, very durable, very customizable. It will serve you well. I would tell you my setup, but currently my A-5 is being "remodeled". Anyway, get internal upgrades, then mil-sim looks, and have fun.
