It's pretty tiring, but not hard thus far. He pretty much just eats, sleeps, and poops. The tiredness comes from the freaking nurses coming in and making him cry all hours of the night.

Congratulations man, and welcome to the club.

As tough as the hospital night was, the first night home will be a strange experience. It felt to us like they hand you the baby with a "Congrats, here's your human, go home, don't break it."

And if you haven't learned to already- ignore everyone's inevitable, unsolicited advice. Its usually terrible.

Kid is here sleeping away.I'm about ready to pass the neck out. But I know that as soon as I do, he'll need to be fed meaning I'll have to get up to take him to mom. Ugh.

Make sure you teach him the most important things in life.

  • Shooting guns (and taunting liberals with "kids w/guns pics" online)
  • Pie is always better than cake
  • Spam is evil (both kinds)
  • Bacon is good
  • Zombies are bad
  • Don't trust mimes

When I opened the forums today I, for a split second, thought this was another gun thread.

Thanks everyone. First couple of nights were hell. He'd finally go to sleep only to have nurses come in and poke him with needles, etc. Got no sleep what-so-ever. Same for second night. By the third night, all the tests were done, but the neo-nazi nurse we had for day shift didn't want him to have ANY formula even though Erin's a bit behind in production due to the damage her body is having to repair from the c-section. He was hungry all night, so we called the night nurse and she brought some formula (20ml, basically 1.6 Tbsp) and that's all it took. He was finally satisfied and went out like a light. He's starting to get on a feeding schedule now and seems to be doing fine with it. I'm hoping we only have to wake up every 2 hours to feed him and get those 2 hours in sleep which would be tolerable compared to the past several days.

Now I just need to survive the in-laws for a week.
