I ask, because I didn't have one per se. Instead of spending my days building stuff and making more rounds on my press, I spent the vast majority of Saturday shoveling snow endlessly in an effort to not only prevent my driveway from becoming impassable for days, but also to prevent me from throwing out my back if the snow got too deep.
As such, I shoveled my driveway three times on Saturday and a fourth on Sunday morning. Each time there was between 4" & 5" of new stuff and by the time I got to the entrance, 1/4"-1/2" had already piled back up where I started the job.
Now, normally I expect this, but not the last week in February. That's what's pissed me off about the whole thing. It's supposed to be getting warmer, the big snows should have happened already (but instead we only got small amounts) and it all happened on a weekend when I'm already off instead of a weekday when school would be canceled.
TL;DR
It snowed a lot and I didn't get to have any fun on my weekend.

Welcome to my world. The Northeast has been a disaster this winter. As far as it being the end of Feb....I don't get my hopes up around here until at LEAST April. I remember a few decent storms rolling through in mid-march.
As far as the weekend goes....I'd rather have had yours. I got called back in to work around 10PM to help process a double arrest, then a few hours later as the temperatures dropped through the floor, I had to go out to an ambulance call for what turned out to be an unattended death. Thankfully the State Troopers arrived and sent us home, but not before I got to freeze rather thoroughly in wind chills hovering around -15
Winter blows.

So, this is going to sound weird, but was this a man in his early 50's with the last name Famulary by any chance?

I'm just now starting my weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I worked 6:30 P.M. to 6:30 A.M. It was my first weekend to work a whole shift since on the streets after being in CID for the last 6 years. Of course there was a late sexual assault Saturday morning, so I didn't get home on time. It is nice being the guy calling out the detectives early in the morning instead of the guy getting his sleep interrupted for once.

I agree, strange question...no, this was an 85 year old woman with a DNR order, so I still don't know why we were called at all. There was an early 50's man in a neighboring town that morning who bit it from a heroine OD, but not with that name.

Aside from being held over, how do you like 12s? Our SO works the 12 hour rotations, a good friend of mine works 7PM-7AM and loves it. We're a small town dept, so we do B and C lines on 8 hour tours with no overnights.

Okay, because this was going to become the frikken twilight zone if it had been. My wife's uncle died and was found this weekend up near your neck of the woods. I think he lived a bit closer to Oneonta than to Windham though. Died Wednesday of a heart attack, wasn't witnessed or seen until Friday or Saturday, hence the question.
He was a bit of a black sheep where the family is concerned. Never settled down or got a real job, just kind of bounced around certain in his own mind that if only he could get his poetry published, the world would see he was a literary genius. Doctors told him he'd had a heart attack in the past, but he didn't believe them and decided he didn't need to refill his heart medication despite the fact that his blood pressure was through the roof. His on-again-off-again girlfriend talked to him only a half hour before he kicked it and he filled her in that he decided the doctors were lying to him and just trying to bilk money out of him. Dude was way weird.

I worked 23 hours Monday, and then worked all weekend, now I'm staring down a few more inches of snow when we were only supposed to get "showers." I'm ready for spring. I hate working in the snow.

I'm a fan of the 12's. It completely occupies the days I do work, but I'm off so much it doesn't affect me much. This week I only have to work Wednesday and Thursday. If I ever had enough seniority to pull off 0630 to 0230 with weekends off, I'd gladly go back to 8's, but since I just promoted to Sergeant, and will be junior for the foreseeable future, I'll gladly stay on 12's.

I'm very thankful that I grew up driving in the snow. We got about 10-12 inches one day and in the middle of the blizzard I didn't even hesitate to leave to finish up something at work that could have probably waited. I'm also very thankful that even though my wife wanted a Nissan Rogue, it has AWD.

I had to work Wednesday and Thursday night. The snow from Wednesday melted throughout the day, but the temperature dropped to low 20's causing the roads to refreeze. As a Texan, I was nervous having to drive in it all night, but AWD Explorer held its own.

Our fleet is the RWD Charger, so when we get weather like we've had the last couple weeks, we have to pile into the handful of vehicles less inappropriate for ice/snow. I say less inappropriate rather than anything else because it's basically a collection of old pickups/durangos/and an expedition that we have to make do with. CSI got five brand new F150s this year and at least one higher-up has a brand new Explorer, but God forbid we use them to drive around in the snow.

Got some snow here in Indiana last night. Looked like 6 inches piled on my car. Cleaned the snow off and tried to leave the parking lot that has yet to be plowed. Got stuck. Got out and shoveled a few feet of track to get some momentum. Worked, then got stuck after trying to turn. Did maybe 8 feet of track shoveling and was able to get enough momentum to make it the rest of the way out of the long stretch in the parking lot. My car is low to the ground, so I can only imagine the snow plowing action going on in the front. I think my roommate was going to leave, but after walking outside and seeing the snow, he just came back in. His prius with crappy tires would be no match.

We got 6-7 here in MO too. I got to try out y T/As in the snow for the first time and didn't even come close to getting stuck anywhere. Others didn't fair as well.
I also learned a valuable lesson on Friday night. When a stripper asks you if you're in love with your shirt, you say "YES" I have a lot of buttons to sew back on now.

We got another 3 or 4 inches of snow, but on Saturday I drove to a MINE paintball game in Ohio...
Undergound, in COMPLETE darkness, where you can flap your hand in front of your face and see NOTHING.
It was so EPIC! And our team WON the scenario! I took over command as no one was doing it, for a few games, and our team did a great job working together. It was really a fun day!
Here is a little teaser clip of what it is like... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyvBdpSvGvM
There are pics and more video on my "Trails of Doom" facebook page if you wanna see more.
Tippmann just featured an article I wrote this morning too, so it has been a paintball weekend for sure! And my TCR shipped today! Woot!

I woke up to find it snowed last night which was a bit of a disappointment, but oh well. I went paintballing for the first time in years over the weekend both Friday and Saturday. Saturday was awesome I joined in with a group celebrating a birthday so we played all day together it was really fun, but even Friday we just had some 2v2 and it was still fun. I cleaned up all my stuff yesterday and I forgot what a pain some of the springs on the 98 custom can be when trying to put it back together but oh well I got it eventually.

Could be worse, could be the spring in an old "floating valve" Pro-Lite or Pro-Am. There's a reason we used to just shoot the ASA and striker slot with WD-40 and dry-fire them to start the day in the rental armory each weekend...

I lost my camera with some priceless footage on it. I don't know how it could escape jean pockets when I never even once pulled the camera out. I'm at a loss for where it could be. I'm traveling so it could be long gone. The only thing I can think of is maybe a gas station if it fell out of my pocket while getting out of the car, but that seems like it would be noticeable. I was also running on a golf course the other day, but still seems like it couldn't escape jeans. I've never lost any electronics like this. The camera is 5-6 years old, so I don't care that I lost that, I just want the memory card back.

It wouldn't have been a pick pocketer. Not really in crowded places during my travels (also Denver and never was in public places during my time there. Just lots of apartment hunting for my girlfriend.). I'm hoping I am being dumb and only remembered putting the camera in my pocket before I left from home and never brought it with me. The footage on it was me asking my girlfriend's parents for her hand in marriage.
Well, I no longer have a girlfriend now... She is my fiancée! I did it guys! For the few on my FB, I haven't posted it yet, but I'll put up pictures when I'm back home on here.

My dad had three baby goats for a while. They would bounce on top of a set of boxes to get on top of the chicken coop, then leap off like they were jumping off the edge of the world.

Little guy was running a 104*F fever for two nights, but the pediatrician's triage nurse kept saying "well, if it's not 105*F, he just has a virus and doesn't need to come in..." So we took him to a doc-in-a-box yesterday and sure enough, ear infections in both ears. We're going to have a word with the PCP, apparently my son inherited my lower body temp (I run around 95*F-96*F on average) which throws off the standard fever scale.
He's got antibiotics now, so hopefully he'll start feeling better soon.

^^ Myself and my youngest have low body temps too. Totally throws off any Doc. We are in Disney now. With some luck, one of my best friends from the Corps will meet up with us in Disney. I have not seen him since 1990. I will great to see him again.

My dad ended up having a midlife crisis and bought a 370z. He sold me his 2006 Altima with 80k miles for half of blue book. This is the first car I've owned that is under 100k miles. So I'm a happy camper. This makes up for the engine I recently had rebuilt in my ZR2 S-10 that blew up.

I had a whole thing typed up and the forum borked it :(
Anyways, the link got pulled down as soon as my bid was accepted.
It was a HUD foreclosure, but it's in great shape. An older couple owned it and were getting divorced and decided to simply walk away from their mortgage. Basically all it needs is a good power washing and a couple paint touch ups here and there. Structurally it's in fantastic shape.
It was a good deal, so I jumped on it while I was only really starting to seriously look into the market. I'll walk into it with between $35-50K in equity, and there are homes in the neighborhood that sell for well over double what I'll be paying for mine, so I'm really excited about it. Just under 6/10ths of an acre too, so plenty of room for the dogs. Only posting two of the pictures, so as to not clog up the thread (56k zomgomgdie11!) but links to some interior shots are below.

Says you. Just you wait. That chick you've been all lovey-dovey with on teh bookface is gonna suddenly go all biological time-bomb on you and WHAM! You're knee deep in diapers and formula....
I like the breezeway/mudroom between the garage and the main house. Do you get a take-home for your patrol car? If so, it'll likely endear you to your neighbors to leave it sitting in the driveway. That's what all of the five-oh in our neighborhood do. As a result, there's been one theft (someone stole a phone out of a car) on our street in 30 years.

Lol! Hardwoods are hard work! My knees are just now recovering from laying over 1,000 square feet at my house last summer!
I'm getting my granite installed next Friday! I can't wait!!! My kitchen is almost done, and I just hooked up water over there this week, first time that side of the house has had water in over 3 years as it was vacant for 2 1/2!
It is starting to look like an actual home! haha!
I'm playing paintball this weekend, and built a new ZoomCam for my TCR.

Lol, right now we're pretty much on the same page. She's got two years of school left before we start considering having any.
I like the breezeway too, though right now it's screened in with glass storm doors. Eventually, if I were to stay here long term, I'd like to glass it all in.
And yes, I have a take home. Whether or not it will be outside will depend on whether my truck fits in the garage or not though. I have remote start on it, not on my patrol car

I am picking up another Subaru when we get back from holidays. I'm getting a 1997 JDM Forester T/TB, low mileage; 58,000 kilometres. I drove it the day we left for holidays, it is pretty mint, and I've always wanted the T/TB version, factory 250hp from factory. I'll miss driving standard but I'm finding it harder to drive after my stroke so it's time to move on to boring auto. Friday: Ate oysters and then went to a minor league baseball game, at which I drank way too much because PBR was $3 for a 16 oz.
Saturday: Went to the beach in the a.m., went swimming at the pool around noon, worked the rest of the afternoon on a paper studying the intrinsic ability for anonymous networks like Yik-Yak to form anthropologic support publics. Baked a lemon meringue pie and a key lime pie. Watched the third Hunger Games movie. It was weird.
Sunday: My girlfriend made me banana/bacon pancakes because it's my birthday. Spent most of the day doing laundry and cleaning the house to avoid grading. Drinking an Australian Cabernet Sauvignon that's frankly not the best. Going to continue cleaning the house instead of grading.

Hitting up the Ducks Unlimited Sportsman's Night Out this weekend. tickets get you in the door, 1 year membership, and all the food/beer I care to take in.
That'll be the closest thing to a 'weekend' I've had in a while, since I've been cramming all my free time with side work and family time. I'd forgotten how hard it was to have a full-time job.

This one was kinda busy. Although the wife and I went to a friend's house and I found out he happened upon a cheap old john boat and trailer for a decent price. So now when we go duck hunting, it won't be 3 dudes in a canoe... it'll be 3 dudes in a sketchy tin can of a john boat that was made in the 60s. We're movin' on up in the world!
I dropped off my car to get the body work done from the accident I had so I'm w/o a car this week which should actually be ok since I took a couple days off for my birthday. If I'm lucky it'll be done by Wednesday or Thursday.

A bit, though I've luckily not had to deal with any REALLY bad wrecks involving motorcycles. Between that and other financial obligations (truck/other toys) I had pretty much written it off.
However, lately it's bit me hard. I'll probably think about it for another year before I decide one way or the other.
