How much output tank pressure do I need to run a Cronus optimally? Most of the tanks I see are rated at 800 psi, but I saw a video recently stating the Tippmanns usually need more than that. Can I run at 950 psi safely or is 800 psi enough?

800 should be plenty

Any idea if another shim can be added safely to up the pressure above 800 psi just in case?

Depends on the tank and the shim system. CO2 outputs at 850psi, so most higher-pressure markers are made to run around the 800psi mark. If you go higher than that, you run the risk of not being able to get the marker to chronograph properly and consistently.

I can't say for the cronus but I know an x7 and a 98 custom will work on a normal 800psi hpa tank. I imagine you will be fine with a standard tank.

Thanks. The tank is a ninja 50ci with the pro v2 standard regulator. The ninja sales rep I contacted said I could add at most two thin shims to safely increase pressure a little so I'll give that a try. I suspect that I'll still be able to fine tune to 300fps using the speed adjustment screw on the cronus.
