I normally just wear a hard baseball cup to play paintball in but it's getting on my nerves. While it does keep my boys 100% safe, it can get annoying after a long day of play and actually start to rub on the side of my legs so much it scrapes skin off.
I've been trying to look for a good alternative to this cup, but really am not sure. I've heard/seen... 1-soft cups? 2-paintball sliding/padded shorts Are there any other good options, and could you give me some feedback on the 2 items I've listed? The paintball sliding shorts seem to be decent, but do they really absorb all the impact that you could take to the nuts? I don't really want to feel any of the force of a paintball down there. Thanks guys! |

My Dye Hybrid pants are so baggy in the crotch area that paintball always bounce off... I think they designed them that way  -------------

Two things
where a pair of net shorts under your pants, something double layered. lol one good way is to not stick the boys out to play when your paintballing. How about you just wear a pair of shorts underneath your pants? I do
that and it does not hurt when you get hit in the twin suns of tatooine.

heres what i do I stick some cloth in between my legs wear the big stick is. at first it feels really cool. that alwas works for me. but make shure to pack the cloth in so that its a little baggy and a little tight. -------------

You could protect your children by getting one of those 2-pod packs and arranging it so that it goes in front of them.
What I do is just move in such a way that my legs can protect them. How, you ask? Simple. I move up the field diagonally. That way, one of my theighs(sp?) will always be in front. (One of my very few posts down low) -------------

I play baseball a lot and if you get sliding shorts and wear the cup over them, you wont even feel it.

Well, I guess mostly what I was looking for was feedback on those WONE, DYE, etc. paintball sliding shorts. It seems like the best solution other than a cup.
And as for changing my playing style so I won't get hit there, it's impossible. Paintball is a 360 degree sport. Shots can come from anywhere. When I'm making a mad dash across a field or perhaps jumping a creek it's always a possibility that I'll get hit in the nuts. In fact, I normally get hit there every other time I go to the field. I just never want to end up in the ER or laying down coughing with a popped/bruised testicle because I didn't use a good method of protection. |

| I wear a cheap soft cup I got at Big-5. Never needed it, but why take a chance. It's not the most comfortable thing to wear, but I've worn it overnight (24 hour game) without any problems. When I say not the most comfortable, I mean compared to just a pair of boxers. Much more comfortable than a hard cup, and you can move, run, twist, etc without the pain of having a hard cup digging into you. |

I wear a pair of jeans (slightly baggy) and camo/hunting pants (thicker cotton, or overalls/coveralls would work as well) which should also be a little baggy.
The paint bounces off the crotch shots, and the baggy pants work well in preventing any injuries. The DYE pants are pretty baggy as well, I'm sure there will be sufficient space to keep you protected. |

Well i will be honest, me and some friends play just about every weekend and during the winter i usedto just double up my pants. I would have on a pair of sweatpants, not a $2 pair from Wally World (Walmart) but a nice thick pair from Aeropostale or Old Navy (doesn't have to be from there just as an example). and I got hit many a times in the vicinity of the twins, but it never really hurt. Then my cousin did the same thing and got stung pretty good on the "tip of his iceberg" and turned stuff black and blue for a week. he said it hurt to do just about everything and that is when i started to look into some protection. Sweatpants are too soft. Cotton hunting pants are a bit more stiffer and won't give like sweatpants.
And I always wear layers of clothing, no matter what the weather. Believe me, it's torturous when it's 80 degrees out. But whatever it takes to keep one's body protected. |

wow, im glad i found this post, i have been having the same prob. just never thought about posting about it. i usualy juat put a pair of boxers between the cup and the thee stooges, but i think im going to look around a bit now.

If anybody even cares, I found THE MOST comfortable thing to wear.
McDavid Baseball sliding shorts! They have thick material and padding on the sides of your thigh for baseball sliding (also helps for paintball slides). It's made out of very flexible material that feels extremely comfortable, and it even comes with a hard cup. The material flexes and moves the cup as you bend your legs so you still have good protection, but it will never rub on your legs or make you walk bow-legged. It's so comfortable. |

Hey! Funny story... I think it was 2 days ago when I took one of my buddies out to play for his first time. It was just one on one and so it was like maybe the 3rd round and he went to go hide. Well when I found him, he was standin' behind a tree and didn't seem to be doin' anything. So...I did what I do best and just lit him up. I hit him a couple times and so after that was done he explained to me that he was takin' a piss when I started shootin' at him, so he had to hurry up and stick it back in his pants before I shot it. Consequently he couldn't pinch it off quick enough and ended up pissin' his pants. Not only that but I hit both of his legs about 2 inches below his little thing. So he was pretty lucky! So remember, don't whip it out in the middle of a game, especially when you're the only one out there to shoot at.

Personally, and this is just me, but I believe that wearing a cup is bad
luck. I've been playing paintball for over 10 years and never seen anyone get hit in the crotch, other than one occasion where a friend of mine wore a cup for the first time and got shot in the crotch that day. If your smart and play tight its almost impossible to get hit there, even on a run its so unlikely. -------------
