Well just started playing paintball again, and my brother gave me this 98 Custom. Tell me what you think.
Im thinking of taking the drop forward off and getting a 6" steel braided line, and a remote. Im mostly into woodsball, and would also like to get a stock, and a sling. Any opinions on these mods?
Lastly, im not a fan of the 32° barrel thats on here. Whats a good barrel for a man on a budget? Edited by AlcHemiE |

Looks like a nice start. You could get a lapco bigshot or j&j ceramic barrel pretty cheap.
and lastly welcome to the forums |

Nice.
And since you play woods I'd defiantly get a remote and also a stock if you like em'. And I'd suggest a J&J Ceramic for the Barrel. They run about $40.

Excellent, you just reinforced my thoughts on the J&J. I'm still using a standard reloader, any need to upgrade to a mechanical one? I found that when playing this weekend, the balls would somtimes not feed into the chamber, and i was not ever firing fast. Another player told me to cock it back a little further, and it worked. Any solution to this so it doesnt happen at the wrong time?

If you get an Electronic (not mechanical) hopper, than it'll fix you problems of the hopper not feeding. I'd suggest a Viewloader Revolution (aka Revvy).

Okay, but just one more question. The problem im describing to you, does it sound like blowback is the cause of it?

Usually paintballs are heavy enough to not be effected by blowback,
don't bother drilling holes in your gun, it looks dumb.
The paintballs stop feeding because there's 2 in the way of the feedneck on the hopper, just shake it a little bit, or don't pack it so tight when filling it up. |

Well as of right now, im gonna remove the Drop forward, and put the stock bottomline back on with a 6" SS hose, and sometime in the next week or so im going to order a J&J 14" ceramic barrel, a Collapsable stock, and a rocket cock II. Im also thinking of adding a red dot sight, but im not sure if it would fit properly. Any suggestions as to where to get a offset mount for the sight rail, and even a flashlight adapter for the barrel?

You can get a offset from JCS at www.bp-usa.com it runs about $15. I think they also have a tac light kit too.
