Response Problems with nitro

Hello and welcome to Tippman. First, is your new tank a low output tank?  If it is you are inputting only 400-500psi to your gun. An A-5 needs a high output tank (800ps min.). Second in your manual there is a flow control adjustment to the R/T. Try adjusting it up until the gun cycles. Thirdly, is your gun getting air? Is the tank pin valve and the asa pin long enough to open the valve, or is the asa pin too long and blocking the pin valve. Try to hear and feel when screwing the tank in if it leaks a little when you screw it in slowly. You should at that point only have  less than a turn or so before it seats against the shoulder and stops. If you have to turn it more it might be blocking the flow. If its too close and blocking the valve  you can put a tank o-ring in the asa to give it a gap. If it's too short to push the tank pin vavle in you will need another asa with a longer pin.

Even so - many people report RT problems when switching from CO2 to nitro.  The reason for this is simple:  A fresh CO2 tank can put out as much as 1100 psi, whereas nitro tanks have much more consistent/regulated output, at 800-850psi.

Even with an 850 psi tank, it will require some tweaking and practicing to get the RT performance you had with CO2.  You might also look into some trigger mods to help things along.  It's worth the hassle, though - RT + nitro = goodness.
