She's being stripped and re-built as far as the setup goes.
I'm going to have the body stripped and re-annoed by Odd PB with something fun along the lines of laser engraving.

I'll get a close up of my pneus when it gets here (it's coming parcel post even though dude said it would be priority flat-rate. I'm cool with it though as PP will probably cost almost as much). Probably mid next week.

This is K_macocker's bob-long F5. Similar to mine, but different down on the frame

Anyway, the loops and little black boxes you see around the ram are the Hall-Effect sensors. They determine when the ram is in it's rearward most position and it's forward most. This eliminates the need for timing the board using a forward pulse and rearward pulse like the Eclipse and Race frames use. It simply determines when the bolt is opened and when it is closed. It will keep a ball from pinching, etc.

The two MAC valves operate two separate things. The primary MAC runs the cocking action of the marker just like a RACE, E-series, etc do. The second MAC runs the spring-returned pneumatic ram in the grip which trips the sear. That fact makes it one of the most unique true electro-pneumatic markers in the world in the sense that it is fully electro-pneumatic as is uses a pneumatic means to actuate the valve, but the means is also a sear-tripping device. Why they didn't just use an air-ram is beyond me, especially with the use of Hall-Effect sensors on the ram that would eliminate the need for an independently operating LPR and code set for the ram.

The only drawbacks to the system are the mass of tubing up front (which I will be able to reduce using updated 'noids and RACE or Eclipse 'noid covers) and the necessity of using a specialized ram with a magnetic piston head in it to trip the sensors.

I can't wait for it to get here and for me to take it to the local Pev's just to see the funny looks I get.

Very cool cocker.

These were from back in the day when people that made cockers had the idea that "he who makes the most complicated, most moving parts, completely Rube Goldbergesque" machine WINS!!

...in fact...I think someone should design the Rube Goldberg cocker.

Didn't Big Al have a Ssssssandridge Cocker?
(the sssss was the sound it made)

I can't remember if he had a Sandridge or a Westwood. I thought it was a Westwood with a 3-way that hissed non-stop. Of course, my old palmer's quik-switch hissed just as badly. Honestly, I couldn't tell you what he's shooting now as he had to get on the road with that bone-stock A-5 shooting pansy that he always hangs out with. (Evil Fran)

Ken, you making it to any Skunkwerkz games this year? I'm also doing the MCB Cold *** Game in Dillsburg, PA as well as spring and fall castle.

I stand corrected...it was indeed a Wesssstwood.
We hope to make at least ONE game this year...somewhere.
Not sure where just yet...but I have a brand new Superstock that needs to be fired in anger. It is my first foray into cocker-dom. So far..I have no complaints.

Technically, I still own a cocker, so I am rejoining the ranks.

Eh, the problem with Pic's marker is this, every time I start saving up for it, something nice comes along and I spend on it. Regardless, if you are honestly interested in picking up the Merlin from Pic, you can go for it man. I've got a few other projects now that are going to be taking up most of my money. The big one involves a large clear rock of no tangible use and a lump of shiny ore bent into a hollow circle.

yeah, I gotta get it in the mail first, should be in at work tomorrow. I'll have to re-time it first, but then I should be able to cycle it.

What you really want to see fire is my DMLCD. I aired it up for the first time since modding the trigger group over christmas. It is insanely fast. You'd think I had the debounce set to off or something, but it's not bounce. You can shake it back and forth, nudge the trigger, etc, but it isn't a bounce action. It is effing insane! I'll take vid tomorrow.
