Hey guys, I know I made a post regarding what I should be expecting from Tippmann CS, but I was wondering whether I can fix the gun myself or whether it is damned to spend the next few weeks in a pro shop? Here's my issue: The plug(end cap) at the back which holds the spring and pin has given way due to a weak snap spring (I’m guessing), causing the plug, pin and spring to shoot backwards, striking me in the face. Luckily, I adhered to the safety procedures on the box which states to always use a face mask when operating any paintball gun, so I wasn’t injured. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was it a faulty end cap or was it the snapring? The snapring seems fine; however, the problem is repetative, hence the reason it is in the shop. Thanks. Chris. |

Huh, new one on me. Maybe Tippmann received a shipment of bad snaprings? Also, whats your velocity at? You might have it up too high, or your CO2 keeps warming up and outputting more psi than needed, whereas the bolt is being thrown into the end cap, thus breaking it.

I'm playing indoors right now and firing at a rate inbetween 230-260 feet per second. I'm also using HPA. I took apart the gun and put it back together; played for another hour and it let go again, so it is definately not a flukey thing. It is a defective part. After contacting Tippmann Head Office, they told me that they are aware of this issue and without hesitation offered to send me a replacement end cap and snapring. I'm satisfied with the help they provided me. |
