Hey found this drifting on the interwebz and it confused me. The body and everything about it tells me that its a 68-Special, but then there's a picture of the serial and that says it is a SMG 60.

i got the idea to look for the SMG 60 because of that video, but after i found this i decided there must have been something up with either somebody switching the serials or something but maybe this is just a a very rare mix up.

is there a way to look up the serial number and check the date or find out more?

Its a SMG 60 trigger frame on a 68 Special. I believe someone on these forums has a similar setup.

early 68 specials were converted from smg 60s and 68s... you could send the gun in and have it converted for a fee just like the 98s to 98c specs...

edit: this gun was originally an SMG 60 but had the front half of the reciever swapped out to take a hopper and a .68cal barrel. increased the use on the field but now 20 years later killed the resale value...

that marker would be extremely fun to play with.  all it needs is a Revvy and it's good to go.
