Pink markers aren't that uncommon now...
WDP, FEP, and Planet Eclipse all make factory anno's of pink guns.  Personally, I just think the color scheme looks good. Pink is a hard color to anno, but it tends to show up very well, and is very vibrant off of alluminum.
