I dont have any oil specifically for markers but my dad gave me this silicon oil he uses on ball bearings, should i not use this? Its of farely thin consistancy too Edited by DsXz - 14 February 2006 at 11:24am |

That is interesting. Silicone oil does not have good affinity for metal bearings. Mixed with mineral oils it helps to raise its temperature limits by reducing oxidation. By itself it works well on many plastic sleeves, bushings and bearings. If you are running silicone "O" rings it may damage them, but it is very compatible with all other types of rubber and polymer "O" rings. It might be a good choice for the oil used on the rear bolt "O" ring to lubricate between the rear bolt and the power tube(plastic sliding on plastic). It also may work well between the forward bolt and where it slides on the plastic power tube. But, I wouldn't expect it to be the best choice for metal to metal contact...such as the sear engagement notch. Edited by Bruce A. Frank - 14 February 2006 at 11:58am |

Just stick to paintball gun approved oil and you can't go wrong. Use Hoppes #9 for a Tippmann if you have one... |

or you can save the money and get 3 in 1 synthetic. it works FINE for tippmanns, and costs way less then a dedicated gun oil.
