    Posted: 19 April 2011 at 4:59am

A few days ago i've bought an tippmann 98 custom with ACT from a guy.

After the buying I've decided to open it and  clean it. After I've removed all the parts from de methal bodies I noticed that on one of the faces was "mounted" a sort of  small orange-yellow rubber   "egg" (the shape)  about 4mm long and 2-3 mm in diameter. This "egg" was not mounted in any small hole or glued in any way. The problem is that I lost it and I do not know if it has any functional role, and I can't remember the exact place were it was mounted...

This component does not appear in the manual... It didn't seem like it was any misery or something like this. Has consistency of rubber and it's not fragile...

So, please help me with any information, and excuse my english. Thank you!

I know it's not egg shaped, but did the part look anything like what is posted below?  (It's the only orange part I can think of in a Tippmann.)

Here is the manual for the 98 with ACT, just in case you only had the standard 98c manual.

I can't think of anything else that is orange either besides what Mack mentioned above... ^^

It's possible that this was some kind of a home-modification piece that is not essential to the operation of the marker. What was the general area the peice was at? (maybe use the manual I posted above to describe the location).

Thank's for your answers! It's not the ball latch... I remember that that rubber piece was located in the area of the front bolt and the custom power tube, I'm not sure were exactly but in this area...

Hmm, that makes no sense for anything like that to be there... As far as I can think anything in that area would just get in the way of the front bolt. Unless he was doing something stupid and weird like trying to shim his power tube (makes no sense), you got me. I suppose if I was you at this point, I would just put all the other pieces back together and see if it works without the random rubber piece.  Thumbs Up
