I dropped my nitro tank on a wood floor the other day. I had a dye tank cover on it and the threads on the tank were not damaged. Do you think this could cause a problem? I tried the tank the other day and it did work. Just want some opinons.

I have dropped mine before, as long as it wasn't 15 feet off of the ground, then you'll be fine! My tank takes harder hits than that when I'm out on the field diving... |

Omg I never drop my nitro. tank before. Hey Frazier was your tank fulled, if not your lucky and if it was your even more luckier.Nitro tank has to do that test every three years I think is this ture PM me on this thx.

Make sure the outer part of the tank is not dented or severly scratched. If everything looks fine and works fine it should be safe. If you see any signs of damage or major chipping or scratching have it hydro tested just to be safe.

Rap any dents with Ductape and elmers glue.....just kidding, dont do that. If your worried about blowing your self up you can get it hydrotested to make sure.

It's duct tape and JB Weld! Elmers Glue, honestly...
Seriously though, nitro tanks are pretty durable. If it's a fiber wrapped tank, check for any scratches that expose any of the fibers. If there are any, take it in for repair and testing. The cover should have kept that from happening though. And a wooden floor from just a couple feet shouldn't be any worse than running into a tree. |

if the clear coating has scratches or cracks your pretty much OK, if you see ANY of the fibers unravelling, vent the tank immediately, and take it to a shop or send it to be tested
my tank was stolen and then recovered, when i saw the small cracks i vented the tank and took it to the shop, thats where my 2 cents comes from, a shop owner of 10 years |
