I just been think it might be best to take off the shroud of ur flatline when u play. Sure it will looks funnie but:
1. u can change barrels faster if u need to instead of takign off the whole shroud. The screw adapter is fine. 2. gives ur gun a smaller profile. 3 Since the barrel is bent u can just rest teh barrel on a bunker so the only think ur opponet sees is the barrle a little of the loader and ur eyes.(mg42)? Ill take off the shourd next time |

But isn't it there to keep the barrel on straight?

Huh, I thought it was on there to keep the barrel straight also. I guess that is a good idea then, but it would look pretty funny.

I prefer the metal shroud for extra durability.

it would look like crap. the shroud isnt a big deal. you probaly wont have to change barrels any way.

it would too give it a smaller profile cuz u wouldnt have that big piece of plastic comin off the top of the gun, only the curve of the barrel goin up, so it could help the profile a bit

Its a good idea to take off the shroud. I did it. However you cant switch between barrels because you would have to unscrew the gun in order to take the flatline adapter out of the barrel threads in order to put in another barrel. It is easier to use though without the shroud. I could care less what others think about how it looks, because while they are worrying about being pretty, I am going to sneak up behind them and paste them in their a**.

Why would you go through all the trouble of removing the shroud and the barrel off the marker when you can simply have another marker as a back up. |

I always played with the shroud off my A5 flatline. The hellacious
weight of the front end cap made it balance much nicer without the
shroud. Not to mention the looks you get from newbies when your
sporting a bent barrel is priceless.
