Thanks for your help. FYI: I shoot DraXxus Blaze. And I don't have enough money to buy a $100+ barrel or a barrel kit.

I would have to say the lapco bigshot. Lapco has been making barrels for about 30 years and they know what they are doing. Do it right get a lapco bigshot. And for the price its crazy. My lapco bigshot is more accurate then my friends freak and mine is more then 1/2 less its the way to go.

30 years? Paintball isn't even that old. Colin Thompson (Lapco) started making aftermarket barrels about 10-12 years ago in the early 90's.
And actually, the Hammerhead is a fantastic barrel. Expensive, but probably one of the best precision barrels out there. And when they say rifling they don't mean firearm rifling, they mean rifled porting. Which is fine as long as the porting isn't within the first 6-8in of the barrel. And it isn't on the Hammerhead. But no, you wouldn't want the Hammerhead, A5 King. Both the Lapco and J&J ceramic are great precision barrels. I've personally had better luck with the J&J line than the Lapcos but what you should do is try both and see which you like better. Perhaps your local pro shop will let you test drive both or maybe some people at your local field would be willing to let you try their barrels out? I would go that route before listening to some of the people on here. Because remember, the barrel that's right for you may not always be what's right for other people. Just like all paintball products and upgrades. Edited by warbeak2099 |

the top two up there r definitly the bigshot and the ceramic. get the bigshot though. the bigshot is more accurate than the ceramic, but the ceramic is a little more quieter than the bigshot. its speedball, no one cares about how quiet yur gun is, so get the bigshot. for the price that it is, its an amazing buy.

Newb Rifling adds spin to the ball, but that will cause the ball to go off to one side, like a bad FL instalation. Rifling in a paintball barrel is like sugar in a gas tank (forget the mythbusters, just an expression) The only good spin is back spin because it makes the ball go farther. Look for the stickie on FLs. |

Yea CP 1-Peices, Lapco Bigshots, J&J Ceramics are all good low cost barrels.
The Stiffi is $100+, I don't think he's looking for that. And stop with the rifling bs. The hammerhead is probably one of the best barrels on the market. Lemme clue you in on something. There are a lot of barrels out there with rifled porting. The teardrop for example. A fine low cost barrel. I wouldn't reccomend it however since it's made by SP, the biggest bain of the paintball industry's existence. Also, backspin isn't that great. The reason the flatline is so unnacurate at long ranges is because of the backspin put on the ball. It makes the ball extremely susceptible to factors like wind and drag. The liquid inside of a paintball is also a problem with backspin. The shell might be spinning one way, but the liquid inside is spinning freely another way. But rifling and spin aren't always bad. Several good quality barrels on the market are rifled including the Hammerhead. Don't be so quick to label others as newbs when you yourself might be one... Edited by warbeak2099 |

st!ffi is carbon fiber, lighter than bigshot. it has the "cleans
itself" techonology (weather or not you believe it). it has
tighet shot groups for the bigshot. but it twice the price of the
bigshot.

okay okay, you cant seem to read. the PORTING is rifled. NOT the INSIDE OF THE BARREL. this barrel IS NOT ported like FIREARMS which fire lead munitions. since the munition is harder, adding spin to it increases accuracey and range. WITH A PAINTBALL if you added spin to the inside it would throw it off target. BUT THIS BARREL IS NOT RIFLED INSIDE. |
