Do yall think Tippmann will ever do anything to the flatline to improve accuracy? Maybe another company will just copy it and improve it when the patent runs out.

well i guess anything is possible but it would be hard, the flatline
isnt really suposed to be that close of a match to the paint bore size
since the paint needs to be able to spin so unless things with the gun
its self would be changed i dont think the flatline will get anymore
accurate

ummm, the length of the barrel does not effect accuracy or 'power.'
That statement is true so long as the barrel is between 8 and 16 inches long, from what I have been shown of experiments and stuff. |

realy so your saying that a longer barrel will not improve accuracy at range while deminishing overall power from exces friction????

yes it will but a 10 inch is less accurate than a 14. but from 12-16 they r about the same.

looks like a 98c flatline with an a-5 shroud... that would mean its even worse in accuracy....

They always talk about the honing of a barrel and porting, so maybe they'll do something like that or someone else will. Just a thought.

well porting would make it quieter but i think the reson they dont have
any porting is because they need all the air efficiency they can get
since there is so much friction goin on in there, and honing would go
along with what i said earlier in the thread about how they cant really
match the paint to the bore size and stuff

To get accuracy out of a flatline you have to do the same thing you would with any other type of barrel, get the right balance of paint to bore to velocity match. Your flatline will also be more accurate if the velocity is consistent. If your velocity varies by 10 fps with each shot, it's not going to be accurate no matter what barrel you use.

That A5 Flatline does resemble a 98c Flatline barrel but, if you look more closely the threads is made fer the A5.

I'm sure you guys are right the flatline is probably accurate as it is gonna get. For the sniper it would be pretty good if it was quieter, but I think if you got a scope on it(its the only barrel worth using a scope with) it dont matter if they hear you or not because its gonna be to late.

ok well theres a couple of things they can make better, more accrate (they can do this by smoothing the inside down to like 6 microns liek a boomstick, but w.e), the desgine its ugly well not as much the a5 one, hopefully a normal thearded barrel, so u could swich or take it off really easy,
they cant make it more ported b/c of the whole back spin thing and u would use effiency at one point, but none of this will probally happen for a while |
