The A5 is not a Gas hog...   The Cyclone is powerd by left over gas that would just be wasted...  from a 20oz tank you should get around  800-850 Shots   which is pretty  average.

my A-5 is less of a gass hog than the spyder clone i have besides the way the cyclone works if off of blow back gas so there is not a bunch of extra gas being put into the gun

The A-5 is very efficient on gas.  I can get close to 900 rounds from a 20oz bottle.  I have also found that velocity is unimportant with this gun.  Mine has the flatline and e-trigger, chrono's at a consistant 255 fps, and still leaves larger welts and bruses than my teammates autococker set at 315 fps.  If you like it, it looks cool, and your opponente whimper, it must be good.

Yes, it is a gas hog. My A5 uses far more air than my cockers or my Angel. But it's only $4 for all day air where I play, so I don't mind.

I moved from a 68 Carbine to an A5 and get the same number of shots, about 1000+ on a good day, from my 24oz and remote.

Definitely not a gas hog. I borrowed one the other day. I never noticed any difference in play time from my pro-lite. (intoning in a reverent voice "Tippmann be praised" while thanking Tippmann for 3 years of jam free, non-ball chopping, or mis-feed play). I hope my pro-lite forgives me for the one moment of infidelity...at least it was another Tippmann.

I love my A-5. I have my velocity down and it still hurts people. It doesn't hog CO2 at all. My 98 takes more air.

My A5 does just fine with Co2.  I haven't counted shots even roughly yet, but it gets a lot more that my dad's 68 special.  Most agree it's a gashog, but like traveler's field, at the one I go to you pay $17 for all day play and unlimited Co2, besides the cost of paint.

actually its not really a gas hog in my oppinion.i get about 1000 shot out of mine but im using an expansion chamber and a reg that is set at 700 psi output pressure so i save a little more gas not much but a little.

in my opinion the a-5 is the worst gun on gas ever.  I have an a-5 with a response trigger and its terrible.  I get 200 shots from a 9 oz. where as my friend who has an aci maverick gets 1000 shots from a 9 oz.

The cyclone feed runs off of exess co2, so it uses NO MORE CO2 than if it wasn't running it, the only thing wrong, is that the cyclone feed sticks too far out the side, its too bulky.
