the gas does come out of the powertube, goes through the front bolt, ans shoots the ball out. if you pluged that up it would shoot off the plug, or crack and break the powertube.

OK, what rocket scientist told you that???????

The front end has everything to do with launching the ball. The gas travels from the valve through the power tube, through the bolt and launches the ball.
The rear of the power tube (valve) is blowback gas that is needed to blow the bolt to the rear.

Do not block either end
