Hey everybody.  I was thinking about investing in a NSG Splatmaster.  Anyone have one?  Do they break down alot?  I'm gonna add another gun to my old school collection, so I figured I'd start at the beginning.  Any info or experiences appreciated. Thanks.

^^^ Well, you obviously don't know me, do you?

Splatties are good "fun guns." They're cheap, so if something breaks, it would be easier to buy a new one. And considering the internals are all cast-metal and plastic, something might just break. The biggest culprits of weakness are the "figure-8" ring that holds the shells together on the muzzle, and the trigger sometimes shears and won't grab the hammer. Velocity is usually pretty low and unadjustable. Think around 240-260 for a good one. That's usually enough for people who want to play with a Splatty.

I've got a Splatmaster that's being redone. It will have aluminum internals and a brass barrel. However, it's been in the hands of the airsmith for a long while now, and I have my doubts I'll see it again. :(

Edit: Oh, if you want to collect the first, you'll need a Nelson Nel-Spot, followed by a Nel-Spot 007. If you really want to get kooky collecting, you'll need to source a Nelson 707. :)
