Ding that comes with every shot with the M98? It's incredibly annoying and it always gives me away when I'm trying to keep a lower profile. |

not sure which ding you are talking about but try silencing your sear spring. i'm not sure what the real loud ding is, but i think it is the sear catching the hammer. there is no way that i know of to get rid of this.

i doubt it's the "ding" giving you away you hear it because it's right next to your ear. the "pop" emited from the barrel is what is giving you away

I just stuffed a tiny piece of faberic in the sear spring, and it worked perfectly. You just need to make shure that its not too loose, and that its not so tight that the sear wont return fast.

Not sure if it is the same think but I found the CO2 cylinder would ring as it transmitted the hammer impact in the marker. Sort of a BING, BING, BING every time the marker was fired. Drop forward helped but did not eliminate. If I had my marker raised so that the 20 oz CO2 was close to my ear the volume would hurt my ear. Before I added the drop forward I could dampen the noise by putting the bottle up under my arm. With the drop it is lessened enough to not bother me anymore. Another thing that helped, before installing the drop forward, was to loosen the screws that held the ASA to the bottom of the grip ever so slightly. Maybe a layer of rubber between the bottom of the grip and the ASA would also help. |
