Oh ya i have the custom pro, and a j&j ceramic barrel if that helps.....

it does shoot longer distances, you can try different paint. just because its expensive doesn't mean it will work and just becasue its cheap doesn't mean it won't either.

get small bore paint, and you want a somewhat strong shell. the only way to tell is to shoot some different paint through it. just go get a bunch of 100 round bags of different brands, see what preforms the best. marbs have never let me down personally

personally, i think the flatline is a waste of time and money. sure it looks cool, but it breaks paint a lot because of the rapid change of paintball dirrection in the barrel. yea it shoots far, but not strait, and not fast. my empire twister barrel shoots farther and faster than any flatline barrel, costs less too. do urself a favor check out the empire web site and buy the empire twister barrel. check this, it has rifling inside the barrel to keep the ball strait and faster. look into history, thats what they did to muskets, rifled the barrel so that the ball is faster and more accurate

there are alot of myths out there about the flatline. but saddly, most of the myths actually happen to flatline users. because they don't have everything working right before they pull the trigger.

the flatline is my no means a plug and play barrel. it needs alot or care and love. too much for some people. but if you love it, it will love you back. its just a matter of how much "love" (care and money) you are willing to spend on it to get it working right.

if your not willing, then don't get it. you won't like it. get another barrel, there are plenty of other quality barrels that are accurate and quiet or whatever you are looking for

Stick with the J&J you'll be right pissed if you do like I did and spend $80 on the thing. You get the distance no doubt but that means nothing when you can't hit the guy you are aiming at. What you have to understand is tat a paintball is not a perfect sphere. If the ball were the the flatline would be awesome. But because paintballs are shaped like eggs, due to them being on one side all the time and the weight deforming the ball, the flatline launches them out and the go about 150 the standard range and go another 50 or so and curve. If you want to see a pretty paintball show that looks like cats or something then go for it. If I could do it again I'd have pissed on the deal.

Not a problem I hope I didn't sound pushy or bossy or anything like that I was just trying to help you out. In my honest opinion for the amount of money you'll pay if you want a barrel that well give you extra distance get a 14" cmi thunderpig they're only 20 to 30 dollars depending on were you go. They come rifiled so the shot is pretty accurate and the ball goes a few extra feet.

k thanks, like is said above, i have the 14" j&j ceramic.....i havent shot that much out of it because im fixing my gun (shot only about 20 shots so far) and it looks like it goes straight......so is the thunderpig barrel a good barrel, or not? i mean as compared to the j&j ceramic

That's the thing you already have the j&j to me they are both par with each other until it comes to price. I love my CMI and like I said it only cost about 20 to 30 bucks. However it's my belief that the j&j is more accurate so if I were you I'd stick with the barrel you got. I wanted to ask you if you have an epansion chamber though? If not then that will help get that ball the extra twenty feet you're looking for and it will even beef up your accuracy.

What about Gameface Scorch paintballs?
Would a Tippmann 14in sniper barrel with rifling give me the same kinda range?
