    Posted: 12 August 2005 at 3:00pm
Lets face it; the A-5 is my baby. I love it. BUT, the thing does have the tendancy to eat through CO2 faster than I like changing tanks. Especially on those 12-24 hour scenario games that I love so much.

While at the OK DDay this past year, I noticed someone who had come up with a solution to this: a high capacity CO2 tank, supposedly purchased from a Beverage Supply Company (Kegs of ber need massive amounts of the stuff.) The player had mounted the tank to his back and ran a remote system. You'd never have to fill up that way, and you'd be good to go.

My question is: has any one done this, experimented, found any pitfalls or shortcuts that I might be able to use? Any thoughts on the subject as a whole?

I was thinking of an Alluminum tank simular to this, in the 5lb  variety.

Who  can help me out?

Thanks guys,

Tim

I've seen ONE person carry around a 5lb tank.

Downfalls... it's bulky, heavy... you'll need a custom pack to fit it, and will have to rig up safe fittings in order to make it compatible with a remote line.

For 24 hour games... you typically have a break between day and night play... and another break between night and resume of day play. Can fill up then. Or during one of the times when you're shot out.

My solution has always been to have at least two 20oz tanks. When one is empty, or I think I've done enough shooting to be close to empty... simply switch tanks, rechrono, and get back to play. Easier to deal with than buying a 5lb tank.

Sidenote: you might find it difficult to get the bulk tank filled at a field. Which means you'll have to spend bucks and go out of your way to get it filled at a distributor.

Either carry an extra 20 oz on you(put a thread saver on it)
or
Buy a huge HPA tank. Something like a 114/4500

or you could get one of those huge tanks used to fill other tanks and push it around in a wheelbarrow, which can double as a portable bunker

Get an 88/45 or 88/5k HPA tank. That's a good 1600-2k+ shots right there; if you start goin' low, just refill when you reload on paint
