    Posted: 28 August 2005 at 6:34pm
Does anybody know of how I could make a homemade gun sling for my 98 custom? I have a flatline and a stock. I want it to go from the stock to maybe the barrel. I'm having some different games in Canada here this weekend and was hoping someone could help me out. Like what I could make it out of and stuff. Thanks! Oh and I just realized I was in Paintball Ideas.

do you have a shoulder strap from a sports bag or something like that? they usually have hooks or rings on the ends of them. maybe you can rig something from that

I used your bag idea just now and it worked great! Does anyone know of any other cool homemade woodsball/milslim mods or upgrades? For a 98.

get something that has small clasps but will connect to the stock.  Then take a small drill bit and drill through your front site in the middle so it wont break and the clasp can go through.   You know can use your sling.

my buddy used to have a gun strap on his pro-carbine. it was just a strap from a duffel bag screwed or somehow attached onto the marker.

I used a bag strap on my zooka.

But this is what I did before I had that idea.

I got a pair of large shoelaces. I unrolled a large section of duct tape, and put a shoelace at the sides of the tape. Then added a layer of tape over that.
Visual aid.

[1  1]    [ is the tape sides...1 is the shoelace
The more layers of tape, the stiffer/stronger it is. You can also leave some length of lace at the ends so you can tie the ends to the gun.

A guitar strap would be awsome. But The sports bag Strap would work better.

If youw eren't ignorant, maybe YOU would realize taht that's not the only way to sling a weapon.

I generally keep my rifle slung one of two ways- either a tactical thre epoint sling that goes over my should and hangs my rifle from both the read of the buttstock and the front sling swivel, or alternatively I use a one point sling, eithere either a cord or a length of webbing goes through the sling swivel at the buttstock, and then loops around my shoulder so that when I completely let go of my gun if hangs by the buttstock a couple inches below my rifle shoulder. You can improvise this dozens of ways with slings, cords, carabeeners, you name it.

I since made a three point sling for my 98C, and I've got one on my SIM5 as well. For FIBUA scenarios, though, the one point sling is even better. You can hold the marker/weapon at the ready position and it's right in your shoulder, or you can completely let it go to climb or whatnot- and it's only a split second away.

Google three point slings or one point shoulder slings; you'll see what I mean.

Yup, he actually said that.
