Well like the title says I have been having problems with my sl-68, the balls are just rolling out of the barrel half the time, also some times 2 or 3 balls roll into the barrel at once and make a mess. What is wrong? |

need a better paint to barrel match, i have also heard some people install a detent but if you get paint that fits the bore properly it isn't an issue. even if you need to spend more $$ on better paint it isn't like you go through a case a day! so spend the cabbage and get the good stuff.

i was using reballs, so I wouldn't mind being able to use them in the house when it is really cold out. What sort of detents can I use and where can I get them.

i believe he used a spyder based detent, and it had to be removed before disassembly. not real sure though.

most pumps were made withought detents because they werent meant to be cocked until right before fireing...same thing happend on my phantom..u can buy detents but they will most likely go in the barrel, and mess up ur shot..so just get bigger paint

Someone on PBN said paint the end of the barrel with a layer of nail polish and it works well, so I am going to look around and then try that. |

I know it is a little late to get into this subject, but I have a question...I have had my hands on a SL 68 and I also have an exploded view of how it is put together. Since it fires from a CLOSED BOLT how can more than one ball roll out of the barrel? You open the bolt and point it at the ground? With no detent you will have to select paint that closely fits the bore to prevent roll out. |
