My friend and I were bored yesterday and did a bit of dremel work on a model 98 we have to mess around with. I've seen rear sights dremeled off before, so how would you guys suggest I do so? Is there a particular bit that takes it off nicely that we should look for, or will it be a pain in the but regardless. Should we use a totally different tool?
Thanks |

you've got the right tool.. just use a small cutting wheel, then sand or grind like crazy when you're finished to clean everything up... good luck...

Use a metal file. It isnt too big of an area to mill, and you're guaranteed to get it flat, and not uneven.

I first used a jig saw (with appropriate blade) to take off the mass of the metal, then used a hand file to fine tune it to my liking.

I think you should take off enough of the rear sight so you can slide
accessories onto the sight rails. If you did so you could put one
of these on there.
