I just got my A-5 the other day and was excited to take it apart and learn as much as I could about the inner-working of the gun. Of the four pushpins in the side of the gun I can only easily push out two of them. The gas-line push pin and the rear sight push pin. The other two pins, just to the above left of the trigger and the one behind the handle are dead solid. I cant push them out and im not sure if they need some kind of "push" say from a hammer or something of that sort. Any precautions before i take a hammer to the A-5?

hmmm, use a short screwdriver, cover the tip with cloth, and carefully push out the pin. Over time when you disassemle your marker to clean, it will eventually get easier to push out. Try working it in/out to maybe loosen it up a bit, and drop a little oil to help it.

Thanks I was able to push the pins out and it is becoming easier when I was removing the handle from the main body of the a-5 I noticed some white paste around a hole in the inside of the handle thats connected to the response trigger cylinder and on the main body of the marker at the flow control valve. About this paste I would assume people who take their markers apart have this paste disapate over time? Or should I try my best to preserve it?

I'm not sure what that is, because I don't have a response trigger. The best I can tell you is, it might be some type of grease.
You might get a better answer from someone who has one, but that's all I can say at this moment. Sorry bud. I'm sure someone will give you an answer.

There'll be some white lithium grease, that's what Tippmann uses when they assemble the gun. You can get more at any autoparts store, but I prefer Phil Wood grease, you can find that at any decent bicycle shop.
Make absolutely super extra sure that you put everything back as it's supposed to go. Be carefull that you don't launch the tombstone spring, make sure your cocking and hammer springs don't get crossed up, don't put in your bolt or ball detent in backwards. Make sure your cyclone air fittings are tight. When all else fails, read the directions. |

98% of ion owners think ions are better than any high end gun. If you would like to bonus ball these idiots put this in your sig.

yeah what sucks is the very act of removing the grip from the main body of the a-5 messes with the paste =/
