Pro / Carbine Internal Leak

I've got some kind of internal CO2 leak in my newly aquired Pro / Carbine.  I've broke the gun down to screws and bolts, cleaned it, oiled it, examined all the parts, compared them with the manual, put them back in right and everything seems perfectly fine.  It's a fairly simple working gun.  Supposedly, my local paintball store owner said the valve o-ring is bad, or the valve itself.  There isn't an o-ring ON the front valve, according to the manual, and I don't see anything wrong with the valve.  But that's where the noise is coming from.  You can hear it from the hopper elbow, and the barrel, but no where else, and it gets louder when I shoot it off.  Anybody have this problem before?  Any advice?

Yeah, I guess that's the problem, the valve power tube.  But I just don't understand why it's letting it leak.  I guess it's just worn out... but the thing is, is that it's not even a moving part.  Taking out the internals and putting them back in was a pain in the Carbine though.  You have to be very patient with lining up the holes for the braiding hose and the velocity screw.  And the power tube just "sits" in there.  I guess that's why I love my A-5!

well, according to my knowledge, the Pro Carbine is fully equiped with a CVX valve, the same in the 98 and A5. There actually is an o-ring inside the valve. You mentioned that you recently acquired the gun, well, it maybe that that o-ring really is damaged or it just needs to be lubed up. My friend bought a 98 from ebay and the same thing happened to him. We tore it down, determined it was coming from the front of the powertube-which is where the front of the valve is located. It was just a slight leak, so he played with it two or three times before he was going to call Tippmann. (yes, he procrastinated!) Anyway, it worked out because after a few times of cycling the gun and  putting a drop or two of oil in the ASA, it stopped leaking. So there is a chance the o-ring shrank from storage or something. Give it a little time and try some more oil. If that don't work, replace the o-ring, If that don't work, tell us and we'll try to help you further! Good luck!

Actually 2 inside and one outside.

First try the oil in the ASA trick and fire off a few shots to work the oil through the valve. If that doesnt work, make sure the o-ring between the valve and the valve reduction fitting is in good condition.

And the powertube doesnt have a single thing to do with a leak, whoever said that needs to stick with their 98.
