which did you get, the gun or the tank? try screwing it in tighter, it may not be in all the way, or the pin on the co2 tank may be too short to fully engage

Go read the stickies such as

Marker Trouble? Read Maintenance Archive
and
How to disassemble the 98 custom.

Should give you some ideas. I'd also recommend that you look at the products and download the schematic views of your marker so you understand how it all fits together

Crakced power tube, or the steel braided hose isn't sealed properly. If your hose isn't air tight, take it off and wrap some teflon tape around it and then screw it back in until its hand tight.

This happens because there is not enough pressure to recock the marker. Its normal.

another reason is there is not enough pressure to hold the valve closed.

$3 an hour!!! Wow, sure you didn't mean $30 an hour? Give me the name of that shop! I have some stuff that would be cheaper for them to do than to do it myself!

My local shop does repairs for free, all you have to pay is for the parts.
