Hey everyone, I recently got a QEV and took my gun out to the field today, When I get out there, the cyclone doesn't work. Don't get me wrong, its not the cyclone, because later on I put the old banjo on it and it works fine (exept skipping and chopping.) All parts of the system are working fine, exept the big piece you plug the hose into. I don't know if there are any adjustments you need to do to make this work, but the flathead screw that is very wide won't budge. Please help me A.S.A.P. Thanks |

Are you connecting the air source correctly -- to the long end of the QEV?

Im having this same problem. Your cylcone w/ QEV will work fine with Co2 right? Mine works with Co2 but not Compressed Air.
People have told me to screw out the qev as much as possible. AND You have an APE!!! Im getting mine soon! |

Could be a bad QEV. Is air coming out the exhaust when you shoot?

QEV's CAN break and not work.... try a different one. Your cyclone should not chop balls though by the way, i'd check your ratchet.

I don't have co2 availible, so i don't know. You will LOVE your APE board, it rocks. Many good compliments from guys with timmys, angels, other high-end guns. How the heck do you screw out your QEV? It is as tight as hell on mine, maybe that is the problem... Oh, and Nexus, there is NO air coming out anywhere when I fire the gun with the QEV installed. It is something with the air flow, something is blocking it, or clogging it. Edited by Fuzzybunnyownz - 06 June 2006 at 12:33am |

You can unscrew the short side of the QEV (palmers) to show half of the "O" ring don't go any further. you will need a propper sized open end wrench for the body of the QEV and a vise-grip to loosen the short end.

Ok, last night I took my gun in to have them check the QEV. The guy said that the QEV was made for the tippmann RT and actually slows down the rate of the cyclone. I tried to tell him the opposite, but he still didn't listen. We also discovered that this piece was made by smartparts, for an ION, not an A5. So I now have two questions. 1) Is the guy at the proshop right? Is this only for the RT? Does it slow down the cyclone? 2) Would an ION QEV work for an A5? Thanks-Fuzzybunnyownz |

if your using the wrong type in mite.
if you have the low pressure kit, and using compressed air, then get a clippard qev with 1/8 barb fitting.
they have one at https://palmer-pursuit.com/ecom/product_info.php/products_id /304?osCsid=3f31ad8aa31c4438e9a0dd8826fceab6

It doesn't hurt to use the 1/8th fitting.
