i had this same problem.  you are going to have some cooling with co2, dont worry about that.  your problem is the hammer is hitting the valve too ard discharging too much gas.  this can be fixed many ways.  they sell a spring kit that has softer springs.  that wouuld fix your problem.  they also sell RVA's or rear velocity adjusters.  i have not used one but as i understand they compress the spring to adjust velocity.

the way i fixed it was to put my screw in part way, then cut a ring or two off the main drive spring.  then test it.  if its still too high cut another ring off untill it is at the desired velocity.  the idea of putting the velocity screw in part way is that you will then have the ability to adjust it up or down a little as needed.

Yes, but a RVA can decompress a spring as well as compress it. Still I would say a spring kit is in order.

RVA is alot more efficient. The problem with cutting your spring, is that over time if will become less strong(even without cutting it does this). So you would end up having to get an RVA or another new spring.

So just go with the RVA, I think you'll be very happy.
