im getting an A-5 and i need to kno.. What paint should i use
i normally use paint from diks sporting goods (the 35$ for 2000) I could allways use 50$ paintballs for it but i dont want to if i dont have to the reason im asking is because i dont want the cyclone feed to chop the balls (they arent TOO cheap) feeback please... Draxxus is a good brand of paint all around. Midnights and Dusk are awesome. No, the paintballs from D.icks shouldnt break in the cyclone. I've used it before and it's not that bad of a paint. Edited by sinisterNorth - 19 June 2006 at 12:27pm |

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

ive used them, they dont get all chopped up no paint does, unless its watery(or just REALLY crappy) but, when there over 1 1/2 years old and lumpy/bumpy, an imp wont even shoot em, they break and go left and right |

The cyclone won't chop much so if you are on a tight budget, get the cheapest you can find.

Go for Draxxus Blaze or Proto. That's what I use on all my markers.

Farcry, monster balls suck my left nut. Just pay a little more and get the scortch if you are buying at wal-mart. the paint inside is better, and they don't warp as fast.

Try four year old paint. Not one ball out of a bag (That my freind gave to me,) came out of the barrel without breaking. |

Something to keep in mind when picking paint is to match it to the bore size of your barrel. I found a good link to get you started from another thread in the Tippmann forums. The link is: http://www.ottersccustoms.com/paintc.html This is a good starting point. From there, most of the people I have talked to says do the "Blow Test" to check for size. Put a ball in the barrel, is should not fall straight out. slightly blow through the barrel and see if the ball falls (use very little air from your mouth to do this blow). If it falls, then you have a good size. After you find some balls that fit your bore size, then start to look at the quality of the ball/paint. This however is in my humble opinion. |

i've never had my cyclone chop they always break in the barrel for some reason, i think its because my barrel is rifled and its hard on the paint

My personal experience is that it mostly depends on the barrel. The rest would have to do with the marker setup. Stay away from cheap paint.
