Hey was looking into getting a a-5 but i wanted a fast one with a egrip and a low pressure kit and i found a auction on ebay and this gun looks pretty sick. I was thinking about bidding on it when the days come close to the end but what do you guys think about it? good buy or what?

yea i know but ive used tippmann a while now and i really want a a5 i love the cyclone feature on it and stuff. I want a gun mainly for woodsball but doesnt look like speedball that much but can play in speedball but mainly a fast gun that everyone knows up just looks really defferent from stock for wooodsball and this a5 is like perfect idk who this guy is but he fricken rules. At least i think that gun looks sick it comes with a freak back to so id just need to buy a insert and front or just use the stock that comes with it. 21bps is fast enough for me lol

Looks ugly in my opinion.
Decent price I guess. I don't know if I'd get it... It appears to be one of the older model A-5s too, so it has the glossy finish. |

it looks ok, i dont like the screws. (you could always change that) the red drop forward is.....bright. if your playing woods ball, they will see you no prob all the original a5 have a flat paint. the newer paint is the dust finish like on mineVVVV Edited by tippya5extreme - 19 July 2006 at 8:20pm |

if i was to pick the dust finish over the regular flate i would. i use to have the flate finish but the paint started chiping off. the dust finish is allot tougher... the gun at ebay you pic out is ok.

Without the tank included I am not so excited about the price. If you could get it for $400, then maybe. MAYBE. But the $625 price is just goofy. Tippmanns just don't hold their resale value that well. For $500 or so you could get a used Angel A4 Fly or similar gun. |

Well don’t get me wrong I love my A5, its my baby. A lot of us started with tippy’s and just moded and upgraded as we went to make our guns comparable. But if I had the $600 I sunk into my tippy upfront to buy a gun (I’m not gonna lie here), I would probably buy something else. I mean right now you can get a new proto matrix 05 for less then his buy it now on his used tippy. Think about that. I know there’s hardcore guys around here that want to shoot me but lets be honest with ourselves a pm5 stock = a fully moded tippy. Not to mention later in life you can mod the pm5. BTW I’m just using the pm5 as an example since it was the first high end gun I could find for that price theres alot of other great guns in that price range. This is just my opinion.

Well I gave up 10 min of my time here, anyhow the whole system he's got peaced together new for $595.50 Brand spanking new. Not to mention you don’t need the stainless steel screws or hopper really. Don’t believe me check it out: *note: I didn't include the FREAK barrel back since he didnt say what kinda of tip. But the point is for new you can build it and better prices can be found then what i have even.

I got board around here, these prices look right: Macro line ~$5 Stainless steal screws ($18) QEV for increased airflow ($20) -CP drop forward adapter piece ($15)
Anyhow if you made it this I guess it depends on how you look at things. To be saying tippmann is a #1 woods ball gun simply means its big and heavy and if your not really, really good you’ll get your butt handed to you on the speedball course. To say a smaller gun is ineffective in woods ball simply isn’t accurate. Any “speedball” gun can achive the same range as a tippmann unless the tippys got a flatline. Anyhow it kinda sounds like you made your decision already. |
