Why do so many people even care about how fast their paintball guns can shoot. I hear alot of people braggin about their markers that can shoot 20, 25, 30 paintballs per second, and the only thing this means is they will be the first ones to run out of ammo. So I don't get why people even bother looking for a marker with such a high rate of fire. As long as it can shoot at least 12 balls per second its good, any faster than that is just a waste of good paint. I've played against and with people that have markers that shoot 20+ bps and about 85-95% of thier paint balls don't even hit the opposing team.

Sorry I don't mean to make anyone mad, but I just had to get that off my chest.

well, the logic is the more balls in the air, the higher the chance of hitting the opponent. Also, a high BPS is good for pinning down the other team behind bunkers, while a team mate rushes them.

Keep in mind that most players don't use maximum ramping or the equivalent when they play.

Off the field, it seems like the fastest gun in town equates to the biggest penis in town. We know full well that such speed will never be truly useful, and yet we spend hundreds just to use more paint at the chrono station.

You will understand when you get your first paint thrower. Until then, it is very hard to explain what the attraction is.

I like my high speed A5 cause I know that at 20 bps it will not chop paint....so..... when I drop it done to 12-14 bps for games I know full well my gun will never fail me.

and when I get done at the end of the day "if I have paint left" I can play around, 20bps=1200 rpm. it is kind of fun, try it some time

1 paintball gun package=$150
1 case of paint=$50
air & entry fee=$15
lighting up newbies all day long= Priceless

Yea well I just look at paintball from a military standpoint, and most real small arms weapons, like an AK47 or M4 shoot at a rate of 600-800 rpm. The MG42 can shoot at a maximum of 1,200 rounds per minute, this high rate of fire would pin down the enemy but it also wasted alot of ammo and overheated the barrel. In paintballing if your using CO2 with your marker and you have it set for a high rate of fire then your gun will freeze up fast.

This isnt the military, you dont really die with one hit, so dont try to compare the two

people get pinned down in the military because they dont want to risk dieing

plus people with fast mid-high end guns dont use co2, so yet again, it doesnt compare

actually the MG-42 had a max. rate at 1300 rpm =13.6666. but like I said I just run my gun at this high rate of fire for fun, not for games. and if you use hpa it will not freeze up.

Actually the two do compare in certin aspects, like shooting, finding cover, flanking, getting hit with projectiles, use of tactics, etc. and yea I realize this isn't the military, but thanks for making me look stupid.....
